Police have issued an alert for a missing young girl last seen at her Hempstead home. Amani Mills, age 15, was last spotted leaving her Hempstead home on Tuesday, April 2, according to Nassau County Police. Her disappearance was reported to police weeks later, on Tuesday, April 30. Mills stands at 5-foot-1 and weighs approximately 110 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Man Driving Drunk Falls Asleep At Wheel On Long Island Highway, Police Say
A 27-year-old Long Island man was arrested after police discovered him asleep behind the wheel, allegedly intoxicated. It happened on Wednesday, May 1 in Bridgehampton, according to the Southampton Town Police. At approximately midnight, authorities received a call reporting a car in the roadway of Montauk Highway with a driver seemingly sleeping in the front seat. Police are searching for three people who stole a piece of jewelry worth thousands of dollars right from their victim’s body. The Westbury incident occurred on Monday, April 29 at 5 p.m., according to Nassau County Police. A 74-year-old woman was walking on Salisbury Park Drive near the intersection of Port Lane when a light-colored sedan pulled up alongside her. Teen Arrested For Nassau County Burglaries Accused Of Stealing Vehicle Along Jersey Shore
A teen from Newark was accused of stealing a vehicle in Ocean County, authorities said. Fazon Farrington, 19, was charged on Monday, Apr. 29 with theft of movable property and burglary. The Brick Township Police Department announced the charges in a news release on Tuesday, Apr. 30. A vehicle was stolen on Princeton Avenue on Tuesday, Mar. 5. Police have arrested a Long Island man for robbing a restaurant with a gun. The robbery occurred on Wednesday, April 24 in Riverhead. Just after 10:30 p.m. that night, 35-year-old Craig Cherney allegedly walked into Shah’s Halal Food, located at 1767 Old Country Road with a gun. The State Liquor Authority cited a Long Island restaurant manager for violations for allegedly illegally operating a nightclub after receiving several complaints from the community. 38-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Fatal Crash Near Southern State Parkway
A Long Island resident was killed in an overnight crash just north of the Southern State Parkway. It happened around 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in East Farmingdale. Suffolk County Police said the man was operating a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on New Highway when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.
