Police are searching for two men in separate shootings in Atlantic City, authorities said. In a news release on Monday, May 6, Atlantic City police said 19-year-old Ashan Jackson of Galloway was wanted in a shooting on Wednesday, Mar. 13. He was facing two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Driver Charged With DWI After 3-Car Crash In South Jersey: Police
A 38-year-old man from Millville was charged with driving while intoxicated after a three-vehicle crash in Vineland, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 at South Delsea Drive and West Sherman Avenue, according to Vineland police. In addition to DWI, Gibrant Espinosa was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, uninsured motorist, endangering the welfare of a child, and assault by auto, police said. One person was injured in the crash, police said. No other details were released.

An Egg Harbor Township man was killed in an early morning crash, authorities said. Jose Catalan, 87, died in the crash on Monday, May 6 at the intersection of Delaware and Fernwood avenues, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Driver Hospitalized After Pickup Crashes Into Tree Along Jersey Shore
A pickup driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree in Upper Township, officials said. The Marmora Volunteer Fire Company said firefighters and Upper Township paramedics responded to the crash on South Old Tuckahoe Road at around 6:55 a.m. on Monday, May 6. Emergency crews found a pickup that hit a tree with the driver stuck inside the truck. Seaville and Tuckahoe firefighters were also called to the scene to help with the trapped driver. An Essex County man drowned in the ocean at a beach along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Spring Lake police responded to the beachfront near St. Clair Avenue for a swimmer in distress at around 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, the department said in a news release. The first officers at the scene found a man floating face down in the surf and he was pulled out of the water for life-saving measures. Trooper Dies During Training: Officials
A New Jersey State Police trooper has died suddenly, the department said. Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who worked in Troop D at the Moorestown station, died during training, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan said. Bethea was an eight-year NJSP veteran and was a member of the 156th State Police Class.
