A Mercer County high school teacher admitted to sexually assaulting a student multiple times times in a vehicle at a Monmouth County wildlife preserve, according to police paperwork obtained by Daily Voice. Jessica Sawicki, 37, of Point Pleasant, was arrested on Monday, Apr. 8, and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Small Plane Crashes Off Runway In Sussex County (

A pilot got out OK after his Cessna crashed nose-first off the runway Tuesday morning at Sussex Airport, the FAA confirmed. The single-engine 150 crashed at the privately-owned 96-acre airport on County Road 629 in Wantage around 11:45 a.m. April 16. Only the pilot was aboard. Only the pilot was aboard. Men Found With Loaded Gun, Drug-Dealing Equipment In Atlantic City: Police
Two men were accused of having a loaded gun and items used for selling drugs during a traffic stop in Atlantic City, authorities said. Isaiah Butler, 23, of Atlantic City, and 22-year-old James Gallaway of Millville were arrested on Monday, Apr. 15, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Laurel Springs Man Seriously Injured In Atlantic City Shooting
A Camden County man was shot and injured in a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. Atlantic City police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the first block of South Bellevue Avenue at around 8:49 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 15, the department said in a news release. Officers found a 42-year-old Laurel Springs man who had been shot. He was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with serious injuries. South Jersey Man Killed In Crash Into Delaware River
A Gloucester County man was killed after his car crashed into the Delaware River in Salem County, authorities said. The 23-year-old man from Monroeville died in the crash at Industrial Park Road and Riviera Drive at about 8 a.m. Saturday, April 13, Pennsville Township police said. His name had not been released. First responders found the vehicle overturned in the river.

Police ID College Student Killed In I-295 Crash
Authorities have identified the 20-year-old driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 295 in Mercer County. Samuel Beale, of the Kenvil section of Roxbury, was driving a Nissan SUV northbound near milepost 60.6 in Hamilton shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, when he veered off the highway to the left and struck a concrete bridge support and guardrail, New Jersey State Police said. Beale was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said. Beale was a sophomore economics major at Rider University in Lawrenceville, according to his LinkedIn.com profile.

A Somers Point family was rallying for support after a fire significantly damaged the home of a woman and her three sons, according to a fundraising campaign. Motorcyclist Killed In South Jersey Crash:

A 60-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he veered off a Cumberland County road and struck a tree and utility pole, authorities said. William Rannels, of Fairfield Township, was riding a Honda motorcycle eastbound on Back Neck Road in Fairfield at about 7 p.m. Sunday, April 14 when he ran off the roadway, New Jersey State Police said. Rannels sustained fatal injuries, State Police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Three people were hospitalized with head injuries, including one man who was airlifted, after a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. Firefighters from multiple companies were working to contain a 10-mile stretch of wildfires in Camden County on Monday evening, April 15. More than 20 individual fires broke out across Winslow Township, spanning from Berlin-Cross Keys to Ancora State Hospital, the state's wildfire service said. A visitor who suffered a medical emergency at Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office was revived by a group of detectives, authorities said.
