John Jay Athletes Named As Players To Watch

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – The MSG Varsity network is in the process of naming the Top 30 Athletes to Watch from the Westchester/Hudson Valley Region and of the 24 athletes spotlighted so far, three of them are from John Jay High School.

MSG Varsity is Cablevision’s 24/7 network devoted to all things high school and can be found on Optimum TV channel 14.

The John Jay athletes featured on the show are hockey and lacrosse player Frazier Bostwick, football and lacrosse player Jack Lambert, and golfer Nicole Morales.

Bostwick, a senior, excels at both hockey and lacrosse, although hockey is his dominant sport. Last year he had 28 goals and 18 assists on the ice at forward. As a lacrosse midfielder, Bostwick had eight goals and five assists last season.

Lambert, also a senior, was recognized by the network for his skills in both football and lacrosse. A wide receiver and quarterback for the Indians, Lambert will continue splitting time between both positions this football season. In lacrosse, he plays defense, but still scored eight goals last season.

Morales, a junior, is considered one of the best golfers in the nation for her age, according to MSG Varsity. She is ranked third in the nation and eighth in the world among girls her age. This summer she played in the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championships, making it out of the stroke-play round, and winning her first two matches before losing in the round of 16. Last year, Morales finished the regular season with a 1.98 average differential.
