We are honored to support our neighbor and friend Marie Scanlan who is running for a seat as a trustee for the Board of Education in the Bedford Central School District. Marie has lived in Bedford for over 17 years, and together with her husband Ray, have raised three daughters all who have attended the Bedford Central Schools. We have always known Marie to have a passion for education. Growing up, her parents always placed a strong emphasis on education, and Marie now carries on this tradition, spending a great deal of her time volunteering for our public schools. She is one of the founding members of the highly successful Foundation for Bedford Central Schools.
Marie will be a wonderful addition to the BOE. She will work hard and bring innovative, thoughtful leadership to the group. Marie is an excellent listener who will bring a new perspective and will strive to meet varied student’s curriculum needs. We have served with Marie on a several community organizations. She is a team player who always goes above the call of duty and enjoys working in a group environment. She is thoughtful, caring and will serve the community and students well. Marie’s strong financial background is also an asset in this challenging budgetary environment.
We want our schools to reflect the special community that we live in. We feel lucky that Marie has stepped up to run for this position, and support her in her pursuit of excellent for the Bedford Central School District.
