In total, there will be changes to the occupants of 15 administrative positions, according to an overview released by the district. However, most of the positions will involve replacements for people who are leaving the district.

The district recently sent out a list of who is leaving and how the jobs will be filled. The employee turnover is in addition to the switch in occupants of three school board seats, which will occur on Friday because a trio of incumbents were unseated in May's elections.

At the top of the personnel chain are the superintendent and assistant superintendents. Interim Superintendent John Chambers, who filled the post in November when Jere Hochman resigned to join the state education department, will make way for Christopher Manno, who was chosen by the board as the next permanent superintendent.

Mark Betz, assistant superintendent for business, will retire at the conclusion of the fiscal year. His work will be taken up on an interim basis by Greg Sullivan.

Drew Patrick, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, is leaving to assume a similar job in Scarsdale. His position will be filled on a permanent basis by Fox Lane High School Principal Joel Adelberg. The principal's post, in turn, has not been filed.

The assistant superintendent for human resources post, currently held by Gina Healy, will be eliminated when she leaves this week. Stacey Haynsworth will take on the work, with the title of interim director of human resources and development. Haynsworth will also have the duties of director of professional development, a post that is being eliminated.

Bedford Central has yet to fill the posts for director of special education and assistant director of special education, both of which are occupied by interim appointees. The interim appointees for the new school year are Ed Escobar for director and Deborah Dormady for assistant director.

Meanwhile, Athletic Director Beth Staropoli is retiring after years of service; she will join the school board beginning Friday after winning election to a seat. The position will be filled on an interim basis by Chris Coughlin.

Students at Fox Lane Middle School will experience a change in top officials, as Principal AnneMarie Berardi is leaving for Florida. Sue Ostrofsky, who is principal of Mount Kisco Elementary School (MKES), will be the middle school's interim principal. As a result, MKES Assistant Principal Kweon Stambaugh will fill Ostrofsky's position on an interim basis.

To compensate for Stambaugh's switch in jobs, Angelique Johnson will fill his role on an interim basis.

Bedford Central is also losing Thomas Briggs, its director of buildings and grounds. A replacement has yet to be hired, the district adds.
