Democratic Incumbents In Bridgeport Win Primaries For House, Senate Seats

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Four Democratic incumbents won their primaries Tuesday in their bids to return to Hartford to represent the voters of Bridgeport and a few surrounding towns, according to the Connecticut Post.

The winners of the primaries were: 

  • State Sen. Ed Gomes topped challenger Dennis Bradley in the race for the 23rd State Senate District, which represents parts of Bridgeport and Stratford;  
  • State Sen. Marilyn Moore beat Thomas C. McCarthy in the race for the  22nd State Senate District, which also represents parts of Bridgeport, Monroe and Trumbull; 
  • State Rep. Charlie Stallworth came out ahead of Maria H. Pereira in the race for the 126th House District in Bridgeport; and
  • State Rep. Andre Baker looked likely to beat Charlie Coviello for the 124th House District in Bridgeport.
