Passenger In Ferrari Bedford Horse Farm Crash Remains In Serious Condition

The passenger in a Ferrari that crashed into a horse farm on Route 172 in Bedford early Monday morning remains in serious condition at Westchester Medical Center, according to the Bedford Police.

The passenger is a 19-year-old Pound Ridge resident.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. when the driver, Jake Schaevitz, 19, of Bedford, lost control of the 2001 Ferrari while driving on Route 172 and flipped the vehicle numerous times, said Bedford Sgt. Rich Hubert.

Schaevitz has been charged with DWI, but additional charges may be pending, Hubert added.

Both men had to be extricated from the vehicle after it went off the road and into the horse farm.

The accident is still under investigation.
