Playhouse Chairman Sarah Long and President John Farr will lead the tour and share the latest news about the plans and renovations.
"This isn’t just about bringing back a movie theater," Farr said. "It’s about revitalizing an entire community, making it beat with more excitement, more energy and more fun. A place where more people will want to shop, eat, play and live."
The Friends of Bedford Playhouse raised the $2.5 million they sought to turn the shuttered two-screen movie house into an art-house cinema. The new playhouse will feature three state-of-the-art movie theaters- one of them as grand as in Hollywood’s golden age, the other two smaller and more intimate.
They will feature first-run independent, foreign, and documentary films, as well as classics and family favorites. There will be space for small musical and theatrical performances, distinguished speakers, educational programs, movie clubs, wine tastings, and other private events.
The tour begins at 9 a.m. For additional information, visit www.bedfordplayhouse.org.
