Renovations, which are expected to begin this summer, will include building a 280-seat main theater, as well as a secondary, 90-seat theater for a more intimate feel, WCBJ reported.

The building was previously owned and operated by Bow Tie Cinemas, who closed the location in January.

More than $2.5 million was raised in an effort to keep the historic building from becoming retail space, WCBJ said.
