BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Barn at Bedford Post Inn recently received a "good" rating from a New York Times reviewer.
The restaurant and bar, partly owned by actor Richard Gere, earned praise for its fare being "hardly parochial" but was criticized for "being maddeningly up and down," according to The Times.
For example, the restaurant won praise for a lunch dish of house-made pork pate, but lost points for "underseasoned halibut," according to The Times review.
