Members of the public are invited to the 12:30 p.m. luncheon, which is being held at La Camelia Restaurant in Mount Kisco. The League of Women Voters of North East Westchester is thrilled to host Assemblyman Buchwald, who has introduced a bill to strip convicted legislators of their state pensions.

He will talk about needed reforms in Albany and legislative routes to make them happen. The league does not support or oppose politicians and candidates but it does take positions on issues. The assemblyman’s appearance at the luncheon does not imply tacit support for him; he was invited to speak because his work on corruption dovetails nicely with the league’s good government positions.

The cost per person is $37 and includes a salad, entree, dessert, coffee or tea, tax and gratuity. La Camelia is located at 234 N. Bedford Rd. in Mount Kisco. To book a spot, contact the League at LWV.BLNS@gmail.com. The deadline for reservations is June 6.

The League of Women Voters of North East Westchester covers Mount Kisco, Bedford, Pound Ridge, Lewisboro and North Salem.
