CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Hall of Scoops, an ice cream and yogurt shop, and the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival (CCBF) will host an afternoon of kid's activities on Saturday, Sept. 10, to launch a new custom-crafted ice cream flavor and to celebrate and raise awareness of the 4th Annual Chappaqua Children's Book Festival, scheduled for Sept. 24.

Saturday's event will take place at Hall of Scoops' shop in Chappaqua at 14 South Greeley Ave. from 2 - 4 p.m. The free activities will include air-brushed tattoos and balloon-twisting provided by Kiwi Country Day Camp, a book reading by Biscuit series author Alyssa Capucilli and illustrator Pat Schories, and an appearance by Biscuit for hugs and photos.

Hall of Scoops will unveil its newest ice cream flavor, Biscuit’s Birthday Bash, which is cake batter ice cream with colorful (edible) confetti. Ice cream will be available for purchase.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of Biscuit’s Birthday Bash ice cream will benefit CCBF’s literacy partner, JCY-Westchester Community Partners, to fund the new SMART (Students and Mature Adults Reading Together) in the Ossining School District.

Individual donations are also welcome.

The 2016 Chappaqua Children's Book Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Bell Middle School in Chappaqua. For more information, visit www.ccbfestival.org.
