The race, for young and old, challenges local runners to a grueling, steep and not always paved 5K road race in the historic hamlet of Bedford Hills, and acts as a fundraiser for the association.

Motorists should expect delays and detours during the run, police said.

Funds from the event helps supports local and town organizations such as the Bedford Hills Free Library, Katonah-Bedford Hills Ambulance Corp, Bedford Hills Elementary School Association, and The Community Center of Northern Westchester.

The association also sponsors tree planting, activities for local seniors, scholarships for Bedford Hills students and the Bedford Hills Swim Team.
