Bedford Celebrates Memorial Day With Parades, Ceremonies

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Memorial Day in Bedford featured festive and solemn moments as residents honored those who died in service to the nation. 

Bedford observed Memorial Day with parades and ceremonies in Bedford Village, Bedford Hills and Katonah.

The Bedford Village Memorial Day parade and ceremony parade started at the corner of Seminary and Pound Ridge roads with a ceremony at the World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Gulf War memorials at the flagpole on the Village Green.

In Bedford Hills, the parade started at Bedford Hills Elementary School on Babbitt Road and featured ceremonies at war memorials.

In Katonah, a parade was sponsored by Katonah American Legion Post 1275 and the Katonah Fire Department.
