Chappaqua, Millwood Businesses Learn To Overcome Obstacles

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Three local business leaders were featured speakers at the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce's "Overcoming Obstacles in Your Business-How to Turn Lemons into Lemonade."

Victoria Alzapiedi, a Harvard-trained organizational leadership strategist, Michael Competiello, owner, A&S Millwood, and Jim McHale, president of JP McHale Pest Management, referred to their own experiences in their talks.

Presentations included:

  • Jim McHale, president of JP McHale Pest Management with a discussion on the impact and influence of buzz on the Facebook moms pages and his successful management and response to negative comments. 
  • Michael Competiello, owner, A&S Millwood, discussed how the closing of A&P affected business in Millwood, and how he has successfully maintained his customer base despite the closing other factors. 
  • Victoria Alzapiedi, a Harvard-trained organizational leadership strategist, discussed the importance of criticism and how to not take criticism to heart or personally, but instead to benefit from it professionally and in your business. 

The Chamber is hosting "Ask Me Anything" on March 3 from 7:15 p.m. to 9 p.m at Crabtee Kittle House.
