Do any of the dentists who are quoted by nyscof practice in the Yorktown area like Carl Tegtmeier DMD? Do any of the nyscof dentists treat handicapped patients in the Yorktown area like Dr. Tegtmeier? Will nyscof or their quoted dentists make any contribution to oral health in the Yorktown area in the future? Or do they just take their negative campaign on to another community without any promotion of oral health in any community they leave behind? Hats off to dentists like Dr. Tegtmeier who don't just blog but actually care for the people of Yorktown. View Comment
When the town board member suggest the his constituents go on the internet to get information about water fluoridation at the very least he has the responsibility of suggesting some reliable sites of the " medical profession". A suggestion would be the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. As a board member he has an obligation to seek input from those who have the responsibiliy of public health e.g. those people in his county and state departments of health. We rely on the CDC and public health officials for advice on the influenza epidemic and would not feel comfortable going to town people for a definative decision. Ruling by concensus is just avoiding the obligation of the elected official in doing his own due dilligence. The members of the town council need to get input from those who care for the patients in their town and people who work in the public health field everyday. View Comment
