Somers High Field Hockey Team Setting Goals High For 2016 Season

SOMERS, N.Y. - Last year's Somers High field hockey team ended its season the same way a lot of teams have in the past: the Tuskers had to face seven-time state champion Lakeland in the playoffs.

Second-year coach Jaime Pryschlak saw her team close last fall at 6-9-3, and she believes her team is ready to take a step forward this season.

Somers opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Pawling in the Somers Tournament opener Friday, and will face Mahopac in the championship game, set for Thursday.
