But the Indians continued to press, and create opportunities.

And with 90 seconds remaining they cashed in, as Willa Shiel headed in the game-winner, off a pass from Caroline Touzeau, good for a 1-0 victory.

"I thought we played extremely well today," John Jay coach Craig Barclay said moments after the win. "We played very good possession, and with the rain everyone played well."

Barclay said that a recent loss to Yorktown came largely because the Indians lost the physical battle.

"Today, I thought we responded well," Barclay said. "We played stronger on the ball. And (on the goal) we got a great delivery from Caroline, a fantastic delivery on that header."

Peyton David and Allison Oestreicher each had three saves for John Jay in net. Jay improved its record to 6-3, while Greeley fell to 5-4.
