According to the post, the season, which ran through the months of June and July, allowed children from the Mount Kisco and the Greater Hudson Valley little leagues to compete against other area athletes.

The 9U (ages 9 and under) team, played 18 games, making it to the quarter finals of post-season play. The team finished with an 8-10 record.

The 11U team, which plays on a larger field and allows its players to lead while on the base paths, also made it to the quarter finals, finishing with an overall record of 8-8, according to the statement.

The 12U team, which has a number of players set to compete at a tournament in Cooperstown later this summer, played its way into the post-season’s semi-finals, according to the statement. The team finished with an 8-8-2 record.

“We want to thank the coaches, players and parents for their strong support and dedication this summer,” the Facebook post said.

League organizers are hoping to expand the travel teams in the 2017 season. Anyone interested in volunteering with the league or who would like to have their child play is urged to find the little league online or on Facebook or email admin@mkll.org.
