Harvey Falls To New York Military Academy In Boys Basketball

KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School’s boys basketball team lost to the New York Military Academy Knights Friday 71-40 in a game the visiting Cavaliers fell behind early and stayed behind throughout.

Harvey was down 36-17 at the end of the first half.

Harvey coach Dom Narcisco said his team’s poor first half performance created a deficit too big to overcome.

“We came out slow to start and were never able to make a run to get ourselves back into this contest,” said Narcisco.

NYMA looked to put a lot of pressure on Harvey’s offense and was successful, forcing the Cavaliers to turn the ball over 27 times. Knights senior Jabari Wells was responsible for causing seven of Harvey’s turnovers. He was outstanding on offense too, leading all scorers with 22 points. NYMA also dominated play under the boards, out-rebounding Harvey 39-25.

Bright spots in the game for Harvey were Sacha Kantor and Jake Cohn who scored 12 points each while Deshawn Hilliard led the Cavaliers with 12 rebounds.

Harvey, now 2-2 on the season, hopes to bounce back Monday when the team travels to the Storm King School.
