Forman's 3-Pointer Lifts Harvey Basketball To Win

KATONAH, N.Y. – Once Harvey School guard Austin Forman received the in-bounds pass, he went right up with a jump shot.

Forman’s 3-pointer from the baseline swished through the net with 0.8 seconds remaining, giving the Cavaliers a 55-54 win Wednesday over South Kent School in a boys basketball game.

This was the Cavaliers’ fourth consecutive win.

“When Jake (Cohn) passed me the ball, the defender who was guarding me went for the steal, which resulted in an open 3-pointer,” said Forman, a New Rochelle resident. “Coach told me to catch it and shoot it, so I set my feet and that’s what I did.”

Forman said that during halftime, he was practicing his shot from the baseline.

“This was my first game-winning shot, and it is one of the best feelings in the world,” said Forman, a first-year varsity player.

Harvey’s Ricky Hicks hit a 3-pointer with one minute remaining to even the score at 52-52 before South Kent made two free throws on its next two possessions.
