West Patent Elementary Students Participate In Community Service Effort

BEDFORD HILLS, N.Y. -- Students and staff at West Patent Elementary School participated in a school-wide community service project on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Gathering donations of toiletries, winter socks and books, participants created care packages for families of children in Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

They also designed and wrote greeting cards, organized a reading library for a local community organization and created bookmarks which detailed the traits of a good reader.

The morning culminated in a school-wide holiday assembly which reinforced the importance of being compassionate and helping others.
