The budget, which has more than $108.7 million in expenditures, was approved 1,151 votes to 337. Total spending in the budget is down by 2.2 percent from the current year. The tax levy, which represents total property tax revenue in the budget, will decline by 2.8 percent to roughly $96.2 million.

The projected tax rates, which measure what people owe per $1,000 of assessed property values, include cut of 4 percent in Lewisboro, a 0.5-percent increase in Bedford, an 8-percent cut in Pound Ridge and a 6.8-percent decrease in North Salem.

Meanwhile, school board unofficial results show that Schiff received 965 votes and Tobin received 799. Challengers Carmen Delessio and Anne Foray received 496 and 355 votes, respectively. Write-in votes were given for non-candidates Peter Parsons and JoAnn Vasi, who each received one.

The unofficial results show that a trio of ballot propositions also easily passed. Proposition 2, which is for authorizing the spending of $827,500 for new buses, passed by 1,028 to 279. Proposition 3, which is for the creation of a capital reserve to hold funds for future turf and track work, passed by 1,017 to 470. Proposition 4, which authorizes nearly $2 million in bonding to replace the roof at Meadow Pond Elementary School, passed by 1,036 to 436.
