Twelve Bedford Central School District Teachers Granted Tenure

BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Bedford Central School District Board of Education unanimously granted tenure to 12 teachers Wednesday night at its public board meeting.

Twelve BCSD teachers were granted tenure Wednesday night by the Board of Education (Beth McGinley and Rochelle Zolotas were not in attendance).

Friends and family packed the Fox Lane Little Theatre to hear Superintendent Jere Hochman and the teachers’ principals make the announcements.

Hochman used a quote from the late American psychologist Donald Clifton to capture what the 12 individuals mean to the district.

“Many, many years ago Donald Clifton said, ‘Our greatest contribution is to be sure there is a teacher in every classroom who cares that every student, everyday, learns and grows like a real human being,’ ” he said. “And that’s what these teachers do.”

The following teachers were granted tenure Wednesday night (Beth McGinley and Rochelle Zolotas were not in attendance):

Beth McGinley, Bedford Hills Elementary School
Terri Barret, Bedford Village Elementary School
Kristen Lindsay, Mount Kisco Elementary School
Jennifer Martinez, Mount Kisco Elementary School
Jeffrey Wein, Mount Kisco Elementary School
Marcy French, Mount Kisco Elementary School
Angela Goncalves, Pound Ridge Elementary School
Rochelle Zolotas, Pound Ridge Elementary School
Margaret Austin, Fox Lane High School
Meaghan Luhman, Fox Lane High School
Lorraine Minotti, Fox Lane High School
Mary Cordero, Fox Lane High School

All 12 tenures will become effective on Sept. 1.
