"I wish to reiterate that this is reprehensible and not tolerated at John Jay High School or anywhere in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District," Siciliano was quoted as writing on Thursday.

Siciliano continued in his remarks, according to the reports, "At the same time, I do not believe that this is indicative of the student body and community. We will continue engaging all our students and staff to reaffirm a climate of acceptance and inclusion for all."

Katonah-Lewisboro Schools Superintendent Andrew Selesnick could not be reached for comment. Siciliano, through his secretary, explained that he would get in touch with Selesnick before sharing the email, which is not posted on the school district's website.

The matter is being handled by Lewisboro Police, according to the reports.

The case is the second such incident in Katonah-Lewisboro in recent weeks. The first involved swastikas being painted onto playground equipment at the shuttered Lewisboro Elementary School, which is in South Salem. Three suspects in the cases are Katonah-Lewisboro students, Selesnick wrote in an email to the community earlier this week.
