It's expected to be school as usual Friday for students at Fox Lane Middle School, one day after officials discovered words scrawled on a girls' bathroom stall that were deemed "potentially threatening," according to Superintendent Jere Hochman.
Police and fire personnel were summoned to the scene to investigate, and the building was determined to be safe for re-entry shortly after 5 p.m., he said. After-school programs were canceled and sporting teams were relocated as a precaution.
Hochman issued a message to parents and guardians urging them to reinforce with their children the importance of "saying something when they see something." The Bedford Police Department is investigating.
Editor's Note: We regret that an earlier version of this story on The Daily Bedford was incorrect in its characterization of the incident as a "bomb threat."
