To the editor:
We cannot afford another three years.
We cannot afford another three years of declining student achievement.
We cannot afford another three years of program cuts impacting our kids.
We cannot afford another three years of higher taxes.
This is a critical school board election, maybe the most important ever.
For that reason, it’s imperative we re-elect Mike Solomon.
He’s the only serving board member up for election who has repeatedly called for non-classroom reductions and employee concessions.
While this may make him unpopular with many of his fellow board members, he’s been a steward of our finances.
We need shared sacrifice to fix this mess.
We need our leaders to lead.
We need to re-unite and re-engage our community.
We’ve wasted our own reserves.
We need financial transparency and people with the financial acumen to manage the $129 million budget.
We need candidates who are fiscally minded, willing to go against the grain and fight for the community to do what’s right, even if it is unpopular.
That is why we will be voting for Mike Solomon, Pam Harney, and Michelle Brooks on May 17.
