To the Editor:
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of explaining to my 8-year-old son why a certain BCSD Board of Ed candidate would “destroy our schools.” I assured him that regardless of the outcome, the schools would continue to provide an excellent education and I believe ALL candidates want what is best for the students. Before one side starts patting itself on the back, no one’s hands are clean here. No candidate or position on the adopted budget has been immune from the finger-pointing, name calling, removing of signs and defacing of signs. If I didn’t know any better, I would think this is an election for an 8th grade class president. I don't believe the six candidates are behind these crazy antics, but rather a few people from BOTH sides…please STOP THE INSANITY.
With one day left, I would like to remind people, these candidates are VOLUNTEERING their time to serve our community; if nothing else, can we show them a little respect for that reason? If that isn’t enough, let’s remember that our kids are watching.
