Katonah-Lewisboro's 'Family University' Celebrates 20th Anniversary

LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Family University of Katonah-Lewisboro is celebrating its 20th anniversary Thursday, May 14.

The event will be at John Jay High School and tickets are available for purchase through http://familyunight2015.eventbrite.com/.

There will be a dinner from 7-7:45 p.m., where bag suppers will be provided by Happiness Is, Catering. During the meal, founders and former leaders of Family U will be recognized.

From 8-9:15 p.m., a keynote address will be held for adults by Dr. Wendy Mogel, who will weigh in on the issues of the day for parents of elementary, middle and high school students. Mogel is a frequent guest expert on national media. She will discuss the protection and promotion of self-reliance, resilience, accountability and exuberance.

During that time, John Jay Middle School students will watch Shaun Derik, a nationally acclaimed performance artist who uses a blend of music and dance to deliver a powerful message to adolescents on how to not only ask the right quesitons, but to ask the right people when it comes to their future.
