The zones, which polling places are based off of, are divided by Katonah Elementary School (KES), Increase Miller Elementary School (IMES) and Meadow Pond Elementary School (MPES).
Until Lewisboro Elementary School (LES) was closed in 2014 due to declining district enrollment, there were four polling places available. Because the LES attendance zone was divided between the IMES and MPES zones, the polling places for the latter two reflect additions of residents from the former.
Voters in all three zones picked challenger Julia Hadlock, incumbent Jeffrey Holbrook and incumbent Richard Stone for three seats up for election this year. Incumbent Peter Treyz, who was ousted after three terms of service, lost in all three of the zones.
The proposed 2016-17 budget, along with a proposition to pay for buying new buses, each easily passed on a district-wide basis. Both measures passed in all three zones.
Write-in votes were cast for 12 people who are not candidates for the school board. Some of them are people who have been active in the district for years.
Former board member Charles Day, who served from 2011-14, received one write-in vote in the KES zone. Carmen Delessio and Rory Burke, who each made unsuccessful runs for the board in the past two years, received three and five write-in votes, respectively. In Delessio's case, he garnered two votes in the IMES zone and one vote in the MPES zone. Burke garnered three votes in the MPES zone and two in the IMES zone.
Lewisboro Deputy Supervisor Peter DeLucia received a single vote in the MPES zone. Real estate mogul Donald Trump, who is busy running as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, received a single write-in vote from someone in the MPES zone.
