Fox Lane Makes College Application Process Easy

MOUNT KISCO, NY-- By now high school seniors should have started the application process. Today, most college applications can be completed online, but sometimes it's confusing to even today's tech-savvy students.

While some students at Fox Lane High School already know what college or university they will be attending next fall, others are still in the application process. If a student hasn't been accepted or even applied yet, don't worry, Fox Lane High School is doing its part in helping students stay on the fast track to college acceptance.

“150 Colleges and Universities will be coming into our school from now until November to meet with students,” said Guidance Coordinator, Steve Marcisz. “One, two, or as many as six schools will be on hand during any given day.”

Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from each school, ask questions and get information about the schools and programs they offer.

2011 Fox Lane High School seniors have been accepted at colleges such as Adelphi University, Boston College, Cornell University and Duke University.

Fox Lane also held a College Planning Meeting for seniors and their parents on Tuesday. At the meeting, parents and students were taught how to utilize the Naviance College Search.

“The Naviance College Search is a great tool that acts as the hub for all college information. It hosts students' transcripts, teacher recommendations, college recommendations from their counselors, everything they need to apply, is right at their finger tips,” said Marcisz.

The meeting also served as a time for the school to touch base with the senior parents and let them know what's going on in the school and what steps their seniors should be taking now to get into college.
