KATONAH, N.Y. — Wednesday was prekindergarten graduation day at the Country Childrens Center's "Farm" location on Route 35 in Katonah.

Seventeen preschool children donned mortarboards and received diplomas from their teachers while family and friends looked on.

The preschool grads, most of whom come from the Bedford Central, Katonah-Lewisboro, Ossining and Yorktown school districts, led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance and performed several songs they had learned for the occasion.

Graduation ceremonies were followed by a barbecue in honor of the graduates and their families.

Country Childrens Center's daycare facilities are located in five former residences around the Bedford and Yorktown areas. They provide services for children ranging from 8 weeks to middle school age. The properties are designed so that children can safely explore nature outside and experience a nurturing homelike setting inside.
