McKay offered her response in an email blast that went out to district parents on Friday, the same day that Katonah-Lewisboro announced that selection of Selesnick, who is currently assistant superintendent for leadership development and human resources and has spent nearly a quarter-century in Chappaqua.

"My feelings are mixed because I am both happy for Katonah, and sad for our district," McKay wrote in her reaction email. "Andrew has had a distinguished 23-year career in our schools.

"After teaching for nine years in our English department at Greeley, he became an assistant principal at Greeley for two years and then Principal of the high school for another nine years before joining us in the district office almost three years ago."

Chappaqua's superintendent added, "Through all those years, Andrew has dedicated himself always to doing what is best for the students and staff of our schools. We will miss our colleague and friend."

Katonah-Lewisboro's school board is scheduled to vote on Selesnick's appointment at a special meeting on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to be held in the library at John Jay High School in Cross River.
