BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Katonah Art Center wants to give you and your child a way to spend time out from under the glare of the television. Take a seat, grab some utensils and practice the art tip of this week, given by Sarah Miller, the manager of the Art Center.

"As creative beings we seek to find that source of solace amongst the daily hustle and bustle. One way of activating that creative muscle is doodling. It has been found that doodling in repetitive patterns calms the mind, drowns out distractions and opens doors to new creative horizons. Doodles have also mainly been found on cocktail napkins. Put down that touchscreen and pick up a pen or pencil."

"Project: Can't draw? Sure you can! Try a little design to your very own liking, the outcome will be beautiful, just like your idea."

"Doodles can be any size, drawn on scraps, dribbled with paint, sewn, knit or even sculpted. Have lots of them? They can all be collaged!"
