The legend of the Leatherman started before the Civil War as people discovered a man in a head-to-toe leather suit. He spent his life walking a circuit between the Connecticut and Hudson rivers, resting in caves along his journey. Historians don't know who he was, or why he lived alone, but the legend of the Leatherman still lives on in local lore.

The Leatherman’s Loop, which is held annually at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, features folk bands and participants dressed in head-to-toe leather outfits. The event is one of many offered throughout the year at Westchester’s largest park.

Its 4,000-acres and unique history have also made Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and the surrounding area attractive to many homeowners.

Currently listed by Ginnel Real Estate, 145 Honey Hollow Road is across from a trail leading to the reservation and provides a scenic and quiet atmosphere. The 3,663 sq. ft. colonial includes four bedrooms and sits in the Bedford Central School District.

Another Ginnel listing, 18 Waccabuc River Lane features a light-filled six bedroom home with over eight acres in a serene yet convenient location. Minutes from Connecticut, homeowners are a short drive to Stamford train station and the Merritt Parkway.

With areas for picnicking, camping, fishing and cross-country skiing, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is an ideal location for homeowners who appreciate history and the outdoors.
