WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The U.S.  attorney for the Southern District of New York has openly criticized Gov. Andrew Cuomo for shutting down a probe into public corruption, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Cuomo originally put the investigative team together in July after the state Legislature failed to pass reform bills after a series of high profile arrests. Cuomo then reversed field and announced he would disband the commission after some of the reform he sought, including a harsher bribery statute, were included in the latest budget, The Wall Street Journal Reported.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who has often made pursuing cases against legislators a priority, said he plans to have his office continue the investigations, The Wall Street Journal said.

once again cuomo is playing games with the voters. he has no problem passing laws at night at the last minute on new yorks citizens but when it comes to his fellow criminals in albany he folds like cheap lounge chair and plays it off like its nothing, hey look at him 4 on time budgets, ive lived in ny for a long time, late budgets werent a problem and still are not a problem. this guys gotta go back to chappaqua and dissappear from public life. FIRE CUOMO COME NOVEMBERS ELECTIONS.

The whole county and country is corrupt. Our
justice system is one big
joke.

That statement was
made by a New York
STATE TROOPER from
Somers who i'v known
for several years.
I believe him and feel
that Mr. Cuomo has let
us all down and may
even have something to
hide for not investigating
and pursuing
corruption here in
Westchester and
throughout NYS.

We need to end corrupt
throughout our country
and i just wish that a
new commission is
formed to fight
corruption on every level
of government because
noone is above the law.
We should all praise the
Work being done by the U.S. Southern District attorneys office.

Trust U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara: He's doing an effective job cleaning-up insider trading on and off Wall Street...Albany should also be in his cross-hairs. Perhaps when Mr. Astorino gets elected in November he'll appoint another investigative commission.

Wow. A Schumer appointee investigating a fellow hack Dem. interesting. If the US Attorney were really interested in ending NY political corruption, he'd investigate the whole lot of them. After 5 years, he may even have success.

The US Attorney could spend the rest of his career investigating Mount Vernon. They've become so brazen they barely bother to keep their misdeeds under wraps. Very disappointing that the governor disbanded the commission. For those of us who live in hopelessly corrupt jurisdictions, it seemed our only hope.

Mr. Bharara will hit pay dirt if he visits little old Rye. The consorted efforts of Westchester County and the City of Rye's failure to protect the Health and safety of the public, make Christie's GW bridge-gate look like playschool.
