Astorino originally formed the party under the Anti-Common Core ballot line during his failed run for governor last year. Astorino received more than 50,000 votes on the line, allowing it to remain through the current election cycle, nystateofpolitics.com said.

State conservatives expressed concern over the party's name and that it creates a bigger, more confusing field of minor parties, nystateofpolitics.com reported.
