On Oct. 19, Deborah Healy-Seidlitz, 49, was struck and killed by a car as she crossed the street in front of TRUCK restaurant, where she was meeting her husband, Richard, for dinner.
Healy-Seidlitz was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She died from “blunt force injuries to the body,” according to the Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Pound Ridge woman, who once described herself as a “perpetual student of life," was a licensed massage therapist of 20 years and a mother of two children, Hannah and Andrew.
Healy-Seidlitz was born July 31, 1963, in Monmouth, N.J., to Donald Healy and Rhonda Lederman. She had recently returned to school at Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service, where she received her LMSW earlier in the year.
Healy-Seidlitz was known for her love of nature and gardening, one of the reasons family members chose Ward Pound Ridge?? for the site of her memorial.
"While there can be no reason for such a senseless tragedy ... it is also a time for joyfulness,” her husband said at the service. “Joyfulness in the knowledge that we have all been touched by an angel – by someone who was so possessed by pure goodness and love."
Healy-Seidlitz was an animal lover with interests in cooking, art, interior decorating and local charity work. She was the daughter-in-law of Doris Seidlitz, longtime agent with Bedford real estate brokerage Houlihan Lawrence.
