Teacher Who Crashed Car In Bedford Charged In Sex Assault Of Three Boys

KATONAH, N.Y. -- An elementary school teacher from Fairfield County who drank diesel fuel and crashed his car in a commuter parking lot in Westchester County was arrested Tuesday and charged in the sexual assault of three young boys, according to a story in NewsTimes.com.

Brian Stroh, 30, of New Fairfield, Conn., was charged in the assault of the  boys ages 11, 9 and 6. Stroh, a teacher at Frank A. Berry Elementary School in Bethel, Conn., was placed on leave on Feb. 19 after police told administrators he was being investigated by the state Department of Children and Families for inappropriate contact with minors, according to the story. The alleged assaults did not occur on school property.

The story said Stroh resigned that day, and that evening went to Katonah and drank diesel fuel and crashed his car in a commuter parking lot in Bedford in an apparent suicide attempt. He was extricated by emergency personnel and transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He remained in the hospital for 11 days.

Stroh was arrested Monday on felony charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, the story said.

Judge Dan Shaban continued Stroh's $250,000 bail. Stroh is banned him from contacting the boys or their parents and will not be allowed unsupervised contact with minors. He is due back in court on March 31.
