South Salem firefighters thanked members of the Bedford Hills FAST Team for participating in Monday's fire drills. Members of the team also brought equipment to the training.
FAST stands for Firefighter Assist Search Team, and members are trained to help locate fallen firefighters at the scene, Bedford Hills officials said. Team members also help firefighters get out of difficult situations when fighting a fire.
The team is provided by Bedford Hills through mutual aid with other neighboring departments.
"Always great to be familiar with your neighbor and know how best to all work together on the fire ground when you need each other," says South Salem's Facebook post.
