A 52-year-old Yorktown man was arrested and charged following a domestic incident on Aspen Road in Shrub Oak Thursday.

Stephan Nrekic was charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor and petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Following a verbal dispute with a woman, Nrekic broke her lamp. The woman then locked herself in her bathroom to contact Yorktown Police.  Nrekic then banged on her door, breaking the door frame, and then took her cell phone to prevent her from calling police.

Nrkeic was arrested at his residence and released on his own recognizance. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim. Nrkeic is due back in court on Jan. 25.
