Peekskill Man Charged With Falsely Reporting Robbery

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- New York State Police charged a Peekskill man with falsely reporting a robbery and a stabbing on Tuesday, Oct. 14, officials said.

Sergio D. Hernandez-Garcia, 28, allegedly told police he was attacked by a man with a knife, robbed and stabbed outside of the Rock Cut Deli where he worked, police said. 

Further investigation revealed that Hernandez-Garcia allegedly reported the incident after stabbing himself, police said. 

Hernandez-Garcia was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail, police said.
