Northern Westchester Man Assaults Victim In Domestic Incident, Police Say

A Northern Westchester man was arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief Tuesday following a domestic incident that occurred in July.

Kevin Michael Powell, 30, of Shrub Oak was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.

Yorktown Police responded to a domestic incident at a Yorktown residence where they claim Powell assaulted the victim with intent to cause physical injury and caused property damage. Police did not say where the incident

Powell was turned over to the police from the Westchester County Corrections, where he is being held on an unrelated charge. Bail was set at $30,000 cash or $50,000 bond and a temporary order of protection was issued for the victim.

Powell was unable to make bail and was remanded to Westchester County Jail. He is due back in court on Sept. 5.
