BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The owner of a consignment business that operated in Bedford has pleaded guilty to felony tax fraud, according to the county’s acting district attorney, James A. McCarty.
Barry Shevit of Katonah failed to file tax returns from 2011 through 2013, McCarty said.
Shevit, 68, owes a total of $28,862 in unpaid taxes.
He was arrested last year and released on his own recognizance.
He faces a maximum of seven years in state prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 19, McCarty said.
