An officer from the Yorktown Police Department who was conducting a business check of the mall at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday night reported that he saw “suspicious drug activity” by several people standing near a parked car.

Police said that the officer began an investigation, with the help of Spar, a canine assigned to the department, who found that Ossining resident Timothy Heiserman, Jr., was in possession of alleged heroin.

Heiserman was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned and released on $260 cash bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 21 to answer the charge.
