Hand Grenade Removed From Katonah Home Found To Be Inert

KATONAH, N.Y. -- Bedford Police confirmed a hand grenade reported by a Katonah resident on Tuesday and removed from a home later was determined to be inert.

Police said the report came at 11:07 a.m. on Tuesday from a resident at a home near Deer Park Road. The Katonah Fire Department and a Westchester County police unit also responded, according to Bedford Police.

The county police unit removed the grenade from the home for examination and found it was inert, according to Bedford Police.

The Katonah Fire Department mentioned responding to a grenade report on its Facebook page.
