ARMONK, N.Y. -- A fire destroyed a home at 21 Faraway Road Friday, the Armonk Fire Department confirmed.
The fire department declined to divulge any further information, saying the chief is the only one authorized to speak on the record.
According to LoHud.com, no injuries were reported in the fire that was reported shortly after noon and firefighters do not know the cause.
The family was in New York City when the fire occurred.
Doug Tropp, of New Castle, a friend of the homeowners, told LoHud he arrived at the fire hoping to retrieve the family’s dog, but said he was unsuccessful. The pet’s whereabouts were unclear.
