BEDFORD, N.Y. - A pair of Bedford Hills parents are facing potential charges after worried neighbors expressed concern to police following a domestic incident last week.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, police were dispatched to a Babbitt Road home when neighbors reported that they had heard a disturbance coming from the property.

According to police, upon arrival, it was determined that an 11-year-old boy had been told to stay outside of the home as a punishment. Responding officers filed an incident report and child protective services have been notified. The case is ongoing.

Other items on the Bedford Police Department’s blotter include:

  • At approximately 8:30 a.m. that same day, police were dispatched to Byram Lake Road in Bedford for a reported suspicious vehicle blocking the roadway. During their subsequent investigation, it was determined that the 28-year-old man driving was intoxicated. The Norwalk, Conn. resident was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
  • On Friday, Feb. 24, a one-car crash involving a driver that went off the road and struck a tree on McLain Street led to drug charges for a Bedford resident and Colorado college student. Police responding to the accident reported that they found a plastic bag of marijuana by the driver’s foot during their investigation.

According to police, the woman claimed she was issued a legal medical marijuana card in Colorado, but did not have it on her at the time. She also admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. They were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and are due back in court later this month.

  • Shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, police helped locate a missing 29-year-old from Somers who had been texting a co-worker about her intention to cause herself harm. The woman was eventually located lying on a rock ledge by the water at Byram Lake in Bedford Hills.

Police said they used a rope harness to get closer to the woman and pulled her to safety. She was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Westchester EMS for evaluation.
