Bedford Police: Man Charged With Robbery, Attempted Kidnapping

Bedford Police have charged Travis Walker, 36, with Robbery of the second and third degree, attempted kidnapping of the second degree, unlawful imprisonment of the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana.

At approxmimately 2:22 p.m. on Monday, Bedford officers responded to the parkway between Katonah Avenue and Bedford Road for the report of a disturbance. On arrival, officers came upon an altercation between a male and female inside a vehicle.

Further details are not known at this time and the investigation is still ongoing, Bedford Police said.

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Bedford Police responded to a scene in between Kelloggs & Lawerence Hardware Store and the Katonah Public Library Monday afternoon to what multiple residents and witnesses have described as a possible “car jacking” and “abduction” attempt.

Bedford Police currently could not confirm the details of the incident.

“There was an incident today and there is an individual in custody, but no charges have been made at the moment,” said Bedford Police Lt. Jeff Dicken.

Dicken said more details should be available Tuesday morning.
